Okunchi (Onamuchi Shrine Autumn Festival)
Culture & History


Traditional festival held at Onamuchi Shrine. It is said to have a history of about 800 years. The highlight of the festival is "Okudari", a parade modeled after the feudal lords' procession of the Akizuki clan, and the "Urayasu no Mai", a dance dedicated at the shrine. The quiet shrine becomes crowded with people when the festival is held.
